Queues Tony! Toni! Tone! Do you know what today is? It’s my anniversary 🥳 my DOCTORVERSARY to be exact 🤗 That’s right a year ago today I heard those magic words...Congratulations Doctor 👩🏾🎓
A year later and I am still on CLOUD 9. Most days I can’t even believe it. I’ll be at work and a student will come in and ask for Dr. Bee often I’m just as confused as they are that I’m the one who has to help them 😂. This last year I have spent my time trying to rest, recover, and recuperate. I’ve also, been trying to figure out who I am outside of school as this has been my first year of not being in the classroom since kindergarten😳 yeah all my life I been in somebody’s classroom. But mainly I have been reflecting, THANKING GOD, and preparing for the next phase of my life.
Today I do want to celebrate 🎉 myself but I also what to share a few things I wish I knew June 10, 2019. So here we go A list lol to my young self:
Girl get your sleep!! You need it! You deserve it and you will perform better when you’re rested!
Eat breakfast! You can’t function and you’re angry when your hungry.
Stop stressing, focus on what you can control, and let God handle the rest.
Reduce your outline, baby girl you don’t need 7 pages you're the expert and they have already read the paper. Say what you’re going to say and keep it moving.
Stop trying to be perfect and be present (and that’s on period)!
Let people enjoy the moment with you.
Don’t be afraid of the hard questions, you are prepared for them!
Take lots of pictures and videos too! You need to capture the moment.
Don’t doubt yourself!
And please remember what Primetime said, “If you look good you feel good, if you feel good you play good, if you play good they pay 💰 good!”
Brittany you are young, beautiful, and brilliant don’t let anyone and I mean anyone dim your light or try to make you feel bad for shining so bright. Continue to be yourself, set standards, and do not conform to societal standards of beauty. You’re going to get the DEGREE, the JOB, start that BUSINESS, and continue to MOTIVATE and INSPIRE young people to be the best version of themselves.
